Andrew conducting Blood Moon a commission for the launch of the Music school. It nearly did not happen as everyone deemed it too difficult for the Orchestra to play. Andrew stepped in and saved the day took the rehearsals and put on a first rate performance in a very short period. Although the music was not to everyone's taste it was very exciting, colourful and dramatic.
Northampton School for Girls 90th Gala Concert 27th June 2005 NSG Wind Orchestra directed by Andrew Bassey Andrew made such a contribution to the music of the school that in this group he started 20 of them, and taught 29 out of 38 players; that is a staggering achievement. His students were from all areas of the group i.e. Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Saxophones and yes Andrew started all the Bassoons!!! |
